“DIED FOR THEIR COUNTRY” THE NAMES OF CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS FROM ALTOONA AND VICINITY WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE ARE ENGRAVED ON THREE TABLETS ON THE MONUMENT. UNFORTUNATELY TIME AND WEATHER HAVE ERODED THE TABLETS AND THE NAMES ARE NOT DISCERNIBLE IN A PHOTOGRAPH.
