CITATION:
The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Albert Power, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 7 March 1862, while serving with Company A, 3d Iowa Cavalry, in action at Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Under a heavy fire and at great personal risk Private Power went to the aid of a dismounted comrade who was surrounded by the enemy, took him up on his own horse, and carried him to a place of safety.
