THE WATER BATTERY, ALSO KNOWN AS GREEN BATTERY, WAS ONE OF A SERIES OF BATTERIES BUILT AT WEST POINT DURING THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR. IT COVERED THE FLANK OF THE GREAT CHAIN AND WAS ABLE TO FIRE DOWN THE HUDSON RIVER.
